For the first time in years, insiders at Tenet Healthcare (NYSE: THC) are scooping up shares en masse. It does not hurt that the shares are trading at all-time lows. Tenet is counting on healthier times ahead as it puts a significant amount of bad press, bad management and weak credibility behind them. This operator of hospitals and health care services is banking on a return to profitability in the years ahead as it divests itself from unprofitable hospitals and poorly performing facilities.
Tenet is poised to surprise a lot of people over the next two years as it shows that its new management and focus on profitability and cost cutting will add value to shareholders. But this still remains a speculative company - regardless of all the good things happening at the company. Tenet has a lot of debt, is subject to headline risk, and subject to whatever news comes out of Washington in regards to healthcare.

Buy the Tenet Healthcare (NYSE: THC) January 2010 $5 call options (YTX-AA) currently trading at $1.05. Do not pay more than $1.05 for this options contract. We will use a mental stop loss of $0.50 for this trade - I will, of course, update you on any changes.
