Tiffany & Co. Sees Sparkling Future

 

People from most economic levels are cutting extravagant spending and yet Tiffany & Co. thinks it’s going to make a mint this holiday season.

 

They have some small reason for their optimism since their shares have actually risen due to international sales. But apparently none of the top-dogs in the company have a pulse on where the global economy is currently headed. And the fact is that regardless of how well informed they are, The U.S., the UK and Canada are their top three markets however.

 

The U.S. economy at present? Enough said.

 

The UK economy is falling and people are starting to worry about where their own economic downturn is going to take them while some are predicting that an actual recession is inevitable by the end of the year.

 

And even Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper admits that they might be having a problem, though it would only be a technical recession if any, he maintains.

 

Italy? No. Spain? Not recessive but certainly not peachy either. Japan? Right now they’re waiting on the data to see what the 3rd quarter numbers say, since the 2nd quarter was less than profitable.

 

So where does Tiffany see any such holiday cheer? Unless they got a peek at Paris Hilton’s wish list, they might want to estimate a little lower this year.
