From Russia With Love
If you’re living in the U.S., I’ve got some further bad news for you I’m afraid…
Expect your beloved country to be broken up as early as next year. Of course that means you can completely abandon the “One nation under God” motto, which should at least make atheists happy.
Forget a division between North and South too. The U.S. will fracture into six distinct and separate groups, since the union won’t be able to sustain itself as a whole.
Yup, You Heard Him Right.
If you’re an educated intellectual with not only book knowledge but a healthy dose of common sense as well - and since you’re reading this, of course you have to be - you’re probably wondering right about now what in the world I’m babbling on about.
But believe it or not, this isn’t some neurotic belief spouted off by somebody waiting around for the mothership to come and whisk him away. That is, it is a neurotic belief, just not by some sci-fi fanatic drinking kool-aid.
Instead, that opinion was given by an apparently educated professor at the diplomatic academy of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Go figure.
Igor N. Panarin, the author of nine books including “Infowar and Power,” “Infowar and The World,” and “Infowar and The Election,” and the proud holder of a PhD in political science, has long predicted that this very thing will happen. It’s just that the economic crisis we’re facing - and the rest of the world apparently isn’t - is just the catalyst to send us into the inevitable oblivion.

Valid Points. Stupid Conclusion
So who’s going to take over after the U.S. has gone the sorry way that all arrogant bullies eventually have to travel down? Why, Russia of course! And China… maybe.
Don’t get me wrong. He does make some good points, including when he says that “the dollar isn’t secured by anything.” That’s very true, especially when we’re pumping hundreds of billions of “extra” money into the system on at least a monthly basis.
What he fails to mention though is that everybody else is doing the same exact same thing. I’m not saying that the U.S. will stay on top for forever; no individual or group ever does. The country will take its place with the has-beens in due time, right alongside Rome and colonizing powers such as The British Empire.
What I am saying though, is that I don’t see us breaking up anytime in the near future. It could happen in the next few months, sure, but the end of the world could also take place in 2009. It’s possible, just not likely.
Panarin nails it on the head a few more times though, citing strong facts that still lead to a shaky conclusion. He believes that unemployment will rise - which U.S. analysts are already agreeing on - and people will lose their savings, another fact already coming true.
“Dissatisfaction is growing, and it is only being held back at the moment by the elections, and the hope [that President-elect Barack Obama] can work miracles. But when spring comes, it will be clear that there are no miracles.”
Three Rights Do Make A Wrong
He’s right that dissatisfaction has grown at alarming rates.
He’s also right that people are putting too much hope in a single person. I think that the just-released consumer confidence reports showing a boost in November are probably thanks to the election results.
And finally, he’s right that we’re going to be disappointed if we truly expect economic miracles to suddenly appear before our eyes.
He’s right about all that, but I wouldn’t be betting the farm on his bigger picture anytime soon.
