Addicted To Technology
I’m part of that generation that sighs at their parents for not knowing how to archive emails, or “tsk tsk”s those people who still don’t know what an address bar is.
And yet, I’ll also admit that I still don’t have an iphone or even an ipod. In fact my younger brother has to show me how to operate the latter.
Another item I don’t have is a blackberry; nor do I ever want one. I remember reading an article early last year about how the devices can turn owners into anal, obsessive-compulsive, married-for-life-to-your-job nervous wrecks.
But they were all the rage, and made it so very convenient to keep in touch with people and information that a person needed–or thought they needed–to keep in touch with.

Don’t get me wrong. I know I’m addicted to my laptop and other “new-fangled” devices. But maybe it’s well-past time to consider that while our 21st century high-tech toys can be a big help, they can be a serious detriment to our sanity as well.
Like the old adage says, too much of a good thing isn’t necessarily a good thing.
On the other hand that saying doesn’t seem to be commonly known or applied these days, so if you want to capitalize on technology, even now…
