Shout Option

Definition: An exotic option that permits the owner to lock in a defined profit while keeping the right to continue participating in gains without a loss of confined capital.  Allows a holder to continue to benefit from encouraging market movements without the possibility of losing already locked-in profits.  Investors in these contracts have more than one opportunity to seize profits or "shout."
