DJIA
Definition: Dow Jones Industrial Average. A price-weighted average of 30 significant stocks traded on the NYSE and the Nasdaq.
Often referred to as the "Dow", this index was invented by Charles Dow in 1896 and is the oldest index in the world as well as the most watched.
